Volkswagen India recently announced a price hike for the Polo and Vento.

Apart from higher price tags (by up to 2.27%), the cars will now sport additional features as well. The cars will be equipped with Climatronic AC and an advanced 2-DIN RCD 320 music system that also includes Bluetooth, USB, Aux-in and an SD card reader. Volkswagen Passenger Cars’ MD commented on the occasion that the company had always striven to offer a strong value perception to its customers and they hoped that the new features would strengthen the customers’ resolve to buy VW cars. The company last upgraded the interiors of the Polo and Vento as recently as November 2012 when they launched upgraded versions of both cars.

Combined sales for the Polo and Vento stood at 62,507 units in 2012 and have been a key driver of the company’s performance in the Indian market.
