3. Audi R8 V10 plus
The first R8 was an extremely capable sports car, probably quite usable as an everyday supercar. Even so, the V8 model, however good, could – in the minds of several like-minded petrol-heads – do with more power. With Audi having Lamborghini right there, it was a no-brainer. In came the 5.2-litre V10, first with 525 PS, then with 550 PS in the V10 plus model. However, the icing on the cake was the arrival of the LMX model, which, apart from those futuristic laser headlamp combos, also brought in the Superleggera-spec V10 with 570 PS and 540 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful production Audi, till this second-generation model arrived with 610 PS and 560 Nm.
Essentials: 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated, 610 PS, 560 Nm, Rs 3.10 crore (ex-showroom)
