10. Conquest Knight XV
The Americans have stuck by their ‘there’s no replacement for displacement’ theory for so long that everything from their performance muscle cars to massive seven-seater SUVs began to use larger and larger engines until the Depression. The Canada-based Conquest chose the Ford Triton V10, one of the largest engines of recent times, for their super-sized SUV. A 6.8-litre naturally-aspirated (of course) petrol behemoth, it makes a rather dismal 362 PS, but a fairly decent 620 Nm, even if we do say so ourselves. The same engine is used in Ford’s own Super Duty pick-up line as well as the Excursion.
Essentials: 6.8-litre, naturally aspirated, 362 PS, 620 Nm, Rs 3.2 crore (plus taxes)
