Skoda have taken the wraps off their latest offering for the global market in the form of the all new Octavia vRS.
The Octavia which has been one of the most popular models from the Czech brand’s stable has been made into a much sportier avatar than its predecessor. What’s more, the 2013 model now comes with two engine options: a 2-litre petrol and a 2-litre diesel engine. Technicians at Skoda also claim that the new vRS is a much faster car in comparison with the old Octavia and boasts of a new top speed of 250 km/h, making it 6.4 km/h faster than the old variant. Skoda claim that these new engine variants provide more performance, lower fuel consumption and lower emissions.
The Octavia vRS has been kitted with all new LED-Bi-xenon integrated headlights, safety and comfort assistance systems, progressive steering, Adaptive Cruise Assistant and Automatic Parking Assistant among others. The vRS is a complete sports-sedan package with complete embodies the sporty trim both on the inside and outside, what’s all the more appealing is that Skoda technicians have managed to give the vRS to a little more grunt for that race car feel.
The new Octavia vRS is set for a world debut at the upcoming 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, and although head honchos at Skoda have not revealed the pricing yet, expect it to be evenly matched with its competitors. We certainly do hope that Skoda India bring the Octavia vRS to our shores, as you will agree, this beauty will have many an admirer in our country.
