Nissan Motor India recently launched the Sunny, their first offering in the mid-size sedan segment. Read MoreThe new Sunny has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 5.78 lakh for the base version, Rs 6.88 lakh for the mid-range and Rs 7.68 lakh for the top variant. To begin with, the Sunny will be available with only a 1.5-litre petrol engine. However, Nissan are expected to launch a diesel variant in the near future.

The specifications of this petrol car are quite impressive with the engine developing 99 PS of power and 134 Nm of torque, which are delivered to the front wheels via a five-speed gearbox. The car comes loaded with features such as keyless entry, start-stop button, automatic climate control, an audio system and alloy wheels. (Turn to page 118 for a detailed report.)

Working towards changing the image of the brand from the ‘old man’s car’ to a performance-oriented new-age machine, Mercedes-Benz India recently launched a new avatar of their popular C-Class in the country –  the C200 BE Avantgarde. The car now comes with a more aggressive front, starting from new headlamps to bolder lines running throughout the length of the car, daytime running LEDs and minor changes in the tail-lamps too. Inside, the new C-Class comes with an improved dash, which the company claims puts it closer to the higher classes in terms of cabin looks and feel. Keeping the price close to the old C-Class, the new C200 costs Rs 29.79 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The new Mahindra Bolero is finally here. The most prominent change here lies under the hood, where a new m2DiCR engine (with an ARAI-certified fuel-efficiency figure of 16 km per litre) does duty now. The power and torque figures remain unchanged at 63 PS and 191 Nm respectively, but M&M claim improvements in NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) levels and driveability. The cosmetic enhancements on the exterior include new bumpers, a larger grille, more rounded headlamps and new body decals. The interior has also been massively revamped, with a completely new dashboard (a digital driver console cluster and voice warning system) with wood panel touches and a better packaged steering wheel and gear stick shifter.
