Land Rover have released a ‘Christmas Cabin’ that fits into the back of the Discovery Sport.
Engineers at Land Rover decided to take up a special project for the Christmas season. They wanted to make a product that was aligned with the go-anywhere nature of the Land Rover brand and consistent with the holiday cheer. The Discovery Sport with its cavernous 1,698-litre boot was ideal for the project, a cabin that fit into the Discovery Sport.
Land Rover engineers designed the structure and then brought Danish architects, Lumo, on board. They helped the team manufacture the cabin with sustainable materials. The cabin can comfortably accommodate two people. It has a solar roof charger, and the 12V socket of the Discovery Sport is capable of powering the lights and a kettle.
The structure has undergone testing under extreme conditions by mountaineer and 12-times Everest climber Kenton Cool. With more people adopting the weekend-getaway lifestyle, the ‘cabin’ is expected to catch on quickly.
