Vuhl_web_555It’s not often a new name shows up and takes the supercar scene by storm.

Discussions along these lines inevitably bring up Pagani and how it took the fight to more established brands like Ferrari and Lamborghini and very well does so till date. While not on exactly the same lines, there’s another rather well-kept secret which has been unearthed – VŪHL.

VŪHL, an all-new niche car company, hopes to soon become a popular name with a global heritage. VŪHL, pronounced as ‘vool’ stands for ‘Vehicles of Ultra-lightweight and High-performance’, is a vision of two brothers, Iker and Guillermo Echeverria, which has come to life. Their passion has been nurtured for a while with active roles in GT and Formula car racing successfully built and campaigned over 30 years by their father, Guillermo Echeverria Sr. The company has secured the backing the private investors and the Mexican Government. It’s suppliers and development partners include the likes of Magna-Steyr, Multimatic, Ford and other big names of the performance car industry.

Etxe, a Mexican-American design agency are the ones responsible for the breathtaking design. Their first car, simply called the ’05’ aims to take the tracks by storm. A lightweight, road-legal supercar, the VŪHL 05 has been engineered specifically for the track and endowed with exhilarating performance. It will be launched this July in the UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Iker Echeverria stated, “We intend VŪHL products to be renowned for their effective simplicity and aesthetics guided by a purity of function. The 05 and its successors will also be notable for uncompromising build quality, rigorous attention to detail and a driving experience par excellence.”
