Third leg of the 2012 edition held at the Chennai racetrack
STAR DRIVE IS AN INITIATIVE BY Mercedes-Benz India wherein their customers and the guests attending the event get to experience the brand’s Indian line-up and witness the capability of their cars first-hand.
The third leg of the 2012 edition was held at the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT) at Irungattukottai, near Chennai.
The programme was divided into three sections according to the nature of the activity. In the pre-safe demonstration, the safety features, agility and performance of the C- and E-Class sedans was demonstrated by expert drivers on a specially prepared courses to highlight the PRE-SAFE and ESP features in the cars.
Then came the off-roading demonstrations where features like Pro-Engineering package, Airmatic package, 4ETS and downhill speed regulation (DSR) were explained through demonstrations in the G- and M-Class SUVs held on the artifi cial parcour set-ups resembling real off-road conditions.
In the next section, the guests got to experience the ability of the cars themselves on the slalom course prepared at the track.
The Star Drive will be held in three other cities this year: Mumbai, New Delhi and Chandigarh.
