Porsche_Panamera_India_1_webPorsche have launched the second-generation Panamera in India, claiming to have laid even more emphasis on the seemingly contradictory attributes of driving dynamics, efficiency, comfort and design.

Speaking about the new car, Anil Reddi, Director of Porsche India, said that the Panamera represented a unique Gran Turismo offering from Porsche with luxury and performance coming together in a sports car.

The new Panamera will have five models in India – the Panamera Turbo, the naturally aspirated Panamera GTS, two variants of the petrol V6 (Panamera and Panamera 4), and the Panamera Diesel. The top-end Panamera Turbo is powered by a 520 PS 4.8-litre V8 turbo-petrol engine that pushes the car to a top speed of 305 km/h and average fuel consumption of 10.2 l/100km. The Panamera Diesel uses a 250 PS 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine which allows a top speed of 244 km/h and consumes as little as 6.3 l/100km.

The company claims to have laid special focus on an enhanced driver experience. The re-developed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) with virtual intermediate gears is claimed to further improve fuel economy and comfort. The front suspension uses larger chassis mounts and the advanced steering box mounts provide a more direct response. The car also uses newly developed tyres, lighter 18” wheels and a specifically-tuned Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system.

Design changes include visually tighter lines, more pronounced contours and newly-shaped body elements. The car uses a widened rear windscreen for a visually lower stance, and the wider spoiler and optional LED headlights are attractive touches. Other features include an electric sun roof, Porsche Communication Management plus Navigation, a BOSE sound system, Park Assist with reverse camera, and Air Suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), the last of which is present on all models except the entry-level V6 petrol.

Optional equipment is extensive, with full LED headlights featuring Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus and a 1000W Burmester Surround Sound System among the offerings. The Porsche Exclusive Program allows a high level of customisation of the Panamera in addition to the aforementioned options.

The new Panamera is available for order from today across the eight authorised Porsche Centres in India. Prices start at Rs 1.19 crore for the Panamera, Rs 1.22 crore for the Panamera 4, Rs 1.60 crore for the Panamera GTS, Rs 1.99 crore for the Panamera Turbo, while the Panamera Diesel is priced at Rs 1.23 crore (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).Porsche_Panamera_India_2_web
