The new Kia India transformation is a mixture of a few new updates that include a new logo, brand philosophy, expansion plans and a few new cars.
The new logo is the first step in this new Kia India transformation. The simple “Kia” lettering within an oval has been replaced by a fancy new logo that spells out Kia using an unbroken line in a symmetric shape. The manufacturer claims that this new logo showcases their ambition and conidents and supplements their new philosophy “Movement That Inspires”. Kia officials further announced that the manufacturer is now transitioning to a purpose-driven, customer experience-centric and sustainable brand. They have also dropped the “Motors” from their name and will simply be known as “Kia India” henceforth.
Later into the presentation, they also said that we can expect to see the 2021 models of the popular Seltos and Sonet SUVs. Both these cars will come loaded with new features and styling highlights. In a teaser video that followed, we were also able to see how the new logo looked on the upcoming Seltos. Our attention was caught by the announcement of a new segment entry in early 2022. From the photograph, it looks like Kia are hinting that the new launch will also be an SUV, in which case we expect it to be the seven-seater version of the Sonet. More details on that soon. We can also look forward to as many as 11 EVs from Kia by 2026.
Kia representatives also said that they are looking to expand their network to as many as 360 touch-points across 218 cities across India.
