Car India and Audi India embark on a wild drive to the southern-most tiger reserves in India, in the hope of spotting our national animal.
Car India’s chariot into the jungle will be the powerful Audi Q7 35 TDI. The SUV is powered by a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 diesel, churning out 245 PS and 550 Nm of torque, making it the perfect car for an adventurous drive.
Car India and Audi India will visit the Bandipur National Park and the Nagarahole National Park. The Bandipur National Park is one of the most beautiful national parks in the country, and is situated on the Mysore-Ooty highway. The park covers an area of around 874.2 sq km which is the home to the tiger along with other wild animals such as the gaur, sambhar, chital and four-horned antelope.
The Nagarahole National Park too is one of the finest remaining habitats for both the tiger and the Asiatic elephant in India. Once an exclusive hunting preserve of the Maharajas of Mysore, the park is now home to India’s most reputed wildlife schemes – Project Elephant and Project Tiger. The park covers an area of around 640 sq km and is a part of the “Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve” which includes Bandipur National Park, Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, and Mudumalai National Park all of which combined cover around 2,200 sq km.
