Jaguar have stirred enthusiast souls of the automotive world by announcing that they will create six brand new Lightweight E-Type models.
The Jaguar E-Type is one of the most revered automobiles, being called the most beautiful car in existence by many who swear by cars. In 1963, Jaguar earmarked 18 ‘Special GT E-Type Cars’ cars, of which only 12 were built, the last of which rolled out in 1964. Now, 50 years later, Jaguar have stated that they will build the remaining six missing cars.
Designated chassis numbers, dormant till now, will finally see the light of day. Everything from the original cars, including the iconic 3.8-litre straight-six engine, will be a part of these six cars. The Lightweight cars weigh 114 kg lesser than the standard car, with their all-aluminium body and engine block, no interior and exterior chrome trim and roll-down windows.
Jaguar expect car collectors and those with historic race car interests to acquire their latest production realities. The first of these new Lightweight E-Type models will make their debut after summer this year.
