2015 Audi TT TTS first drive review web 2n

There were 20 TTs lined up at the Mallorca airport ready to go. After a short briefing it was time to hit the road. It was a little disappointing as the weather was cold and it was snowing. However, the cold weather let us use the hot air-vents from the seats. When you drive the new TT, you realise how far the sports cars have come; it is not only the performance but it is the ease with which you can drive the new TT. The ride quality is not bone-jarring and, at the same time, it will out-handle most of the supercars of the past decade.

The moment you push the start-stop button, the four-cylinder motor bursts into life with a roar from the exhaust. The TT is a pleasure to drive as you have an auto box that does away with having to press a heavy clutch while negotiating traffic and, at the same time, you can play with the paddle shifter to keep the car in the power-band and enjoy its performance. The car goes round corners as if on rails without a fuss. The ride quality is very good for a sports car and it does stiffen up in the Dynamic mode. The electric power steering gives you very good feedback and becomes more direct in the Dynamic mode. The exhaust growls when you put your foot down.

The TT roadster looks gorgeous, is easy to drive and is comfortable to live with. If you are looking to buy a sports car, this is the car for you to enjoy with your better half.
