Aston Martin have introduced the all-new DB11 in India from Rs 3.97 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Aston Martin have introduced their most powerful DB-series grand touring car yet. The DB11, that replaced the long-standing DB9 – one of the most beautiful cars ever made, in the eyes of many – as well as , to some extent, the DB10, of which just a handful were produced.

At the heart is an all-new 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 that produces 608 PS at 6,500 RPM and 700 Nm between 1,500 and 4,500 RPM. An eight-speed automatic powers the rear wheels. It weighs in at 1,770 kg. With these changes in numbers, the DB11 is also very fast. With a power-to-weight ratio over 340 PS/tonne, it can sprint to 100 km/h from standstill in 3.9 seconds, and, thanks to the use of clever new aero, achieve a top speed of 322 km/h.

The DB11 can be personalised in near countless ways. The interior is far from previous Astons too. A hint of Mercedes has crept into the cabin, but everything looks and feels just as magnificent as it’s supposed to.

The new twin-turbo V12 engine signals the beginning of the end for their rather iconic 5,935-cc naturally-aspirated V12 seen in everything from the Vanquish and DB9 to the more modern Vantage V12 S and Rapide S. The next car in line for a transplant is the Vanquish, believed to be set for 750 PS, with this engine reportedly capable of producing as much 820 PS.
