Ferrari_458_Speciale_1_webThe stable of the prancing horse have come up with another thoroughbred stallion in the form of the 458 Speciale which will make its debut at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in September.

With the Speciale, Ferrari have taken the 458 Italia, an incredible piece of automotive machinery to begin with, and given it a leaner and meaner personality. Straight off the bat you notice the changes to the bodywork that provide a boost to the aerodynamics and add an even more streamlined appearance to it as well, the most notable of which is the enormously scooped hood that provides the engine with much needed relief from the extreme heat generated by it. The Speciale also boasts of a Side Slip-angle Control system (SSC) which helps mange the torque to optimum levels so that the car is reigned in and under perfect control. The Speciale does need this SSC system though, as the 4.5-litre V8 has been retuned to produce 605 PS of power and 540 Nm of torque. Weight stripping and this retuned engine means the Speciale is capable of doing 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds flat. Ferrari have pegged this as the street legal car with the greatest power output produced from a naturally-aspirated engine.

The Speciale then lives up to its name as it is a unique masterpiece of efficiency and aerodynamics and a fitting addition to the popular Italia lineage.
