The Tata Harrier is a five-seater SUV and is the first vehicle to boast the company’s IMPACT Design 2.0 deisgn language.
The latest SUV from Tata Motors SUV is engineered on the new ‘Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced’ Architecture, which is developed in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover. This platform has been derived from the Land Rover D8 architecture, tweaked to suit the Indian conditions by Tata Motors engineers. The Tata Harrier will be produced at Tata’s plant in Chakan, Pune. Though the car major hasn’t shared much information about the new SUV just yet, but we expect it to be powered a four-cylinder diesel engine in combination with a six-speed gearbox.
The name Harrier has been inspired from the name of the bird of prey, and Tata Motors say that it implies, “A dominant beast imbued with endless stamina and strength. Gifted with unwavering instinct. Effortlessly conquers every challenge thrown its way.” Moreover, the name Harrier isn’t unhead off in the world of automobiles, as Toyota have an SUV model with the same name which is sold in some international markets.

The company says that the Tata Harrier will be launched in the ‘first quarter of 2019’, which essentially means by March next year.
