The 2013 season of the National Championship is all set to enthrall motorsport enthusiasts in India.

The MRF Formula 1600 cars will make their long awaited return to the Championship where they made their debut in 2010. This season, the Formula F1600 cars will be the premier class of the all-new 2013 Indian National Racing Championships. Over the years, this class has attracted the best of India’s young guns who will vie for the title of becoming the National Champion. The Championship will consist of 4 rounds with 3 races per round – a total of 12 exhilarating races.

The MRF F1600 cars have a space-frame chassis, designed by legendary single-seater manufacturer Van-Diemen of the UK, housing a Ford 1600cc Duratec engine. The F1600 cars have been built by J A Motorsport in Coimbatore and will be run by mechanics & engineers from J A Motorsport, thus creating a level playing field. With the 2013 season just around the corner, it looks like it will be another year where Indian motorsport will take giant strides towards competitiveness and popularity.
