We hear that renowned German luxury car-makers, Audi, have decided to develop a new flagship SUV, to be named as Q8. It will be a super-luxurious four-seater mammoth perched above the next-generation Q7 as a contender in this emerging segment.
The Q8 will be an SUV-Coupé crossover based on the same platform as the next-generation Q7 SUV and will look something like BMW’s X6 crossover. We also hear that the Q8 will have an aluminium monocoque like the new Ranger Rover, which will make it surprisingly light for a car of its size. It will be powered by the most powerful petrol and diesel engines Audi currently have (read 500 PS or above!) and driven by the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, making it a high-performance package.
The Audi Q8 will be the range topper of the new even-numbered series of vehicles under the ‘Q’ banner, starting from ‘Q2’. We know for sure that it will be launched after the next Q7, but the exact year is uncertain as of now. Follow this space for more news on this.
