  BMW announced that it has rolled out the 25000th car from their Chennai assembly line today.

  With a total capacity to produce 11,000 units per year, the plant assembles popular BMW models like the 3 Series, 5 Series and X1 in petrol and diesel variants, along with the new X3’s diesel variants.

Speaking on the occasion Juergen Eder, MD, BMW Plant Chennai said, “It is with great excitement that BMW Plant Chennai rolls out the 25000th car assembled in India. BMW Group India is the leader in the luxury car segment and with the increasing demand for BMW cars, BMW Plant Chennai will play an important role in ensuring the company’s long-term success. It has taken us less than six years to achieve this milestone and I would like to congratulate the team at BMW Plant Chennai for contributing to the continuous growth in production with highest quality standards.”

With 9,371 luxury cars delivered to customers in 2011, BMW India became the leader of the luxury car segment in the country for the third consecutive year. The company’s sales looks strong this year as they have already sold about 4,457 cars to its customers in India and are geared up for even more impressive sales performance in the second half of 2012.
