Lamborghini opens their first dealership in Mumbai
The Raging Bull is ready to take India’s financial capital by storm. Lamborghini have opened their second dealership in India at a post location on Prabhadevi Road in Mumbai. The new dealership, to be managed by Auto Hangar, is the second in India after Exclusive Motors in New Delhi. Lamborghini now has a total number of 125 dealerships globally.
Mr Stephen Winkelmann, CEO and President, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., himself inaugurated the dealership. Speaking to the automotive media, he stated, “Lamborghini has always eyed the Indian market with a lot of interest. The past year saw the market potential and realised being in one centre alone will not be enough. Therefore we chose the financial capital as our second destination.”
“We plan to sell around 50 cars by 2015. We have identified three locations including, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. But we will first study the demand in these markets,” he added.
Taking into consideration increased demand, to have one more dealer in the country was necessary for Lamborghini. Apart from this, Lamborghini is also weighing options of selecting another dealer to represent the company in South India. Till date Lamborghini sold about 12 to 20 cars annually in India, with most of them being V10 powered Gallardo’s. Now they plan on achieving 50 sales annually by 2015.
The new showroom will accommodate entire lineup of Lamborghini sportscars and will also house exclusive merchandise and accessories.
