Audi India have finally launched the V10 version of their R8 supercar. Famous for its all-LED headlamp, the R8 V10 has a 5.2-litre, FSI engine with Audi’s ‘Quattro’ permanent all-wheel drive technology and ‘launch control’ system, which keeps the car stable under acceleration.
The car is built around an aluminium space frame and has re-styled side air intakes. It has two options for transmission: a six-speed manual or an R-tronic (paddle shift manual). On the road, Audi claim a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 316 km/h. As for price, this fine specimen of German engineering will cost Rs 1,32,49,000 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The 4.2 FSI feels so old now.
