Company all set for two major launches in 2011
The automotive world has been experiencing severe aggression from the German brand for quite some time and India is very much present on the company’s list of markets.
The first launch from Audi for 2011 came in the form of the R8’s new variant in a 5.2-litre, V10 avatar. However, what is going to follow this supercar is even more exciting, closely followed by the all-new A8, which is powered by 4.2 FSI engine and soon a 3.0-litre TDI will also be introduced. With technologies from the future and styling from the space age, this A8 is set to slaughter the competition. (See p xx for an India exclusive road test of this A8, even before the launch!).
The company is set to launch two cars from the A family, namely, the A7 and A6 in that order. Following the A8 will be the A7 Sportback, which will create a new segment of its own in the Indian market. Expect the A7 to enter the market with 3.0-litre TFSI as well as 3.0-litre TDI engine options and will be priced at about Rs 65-70 lakh on road. The new generation A6 will be the third major launch from Audi in India. This car will come powered with various engines like a 2.0-litre TDI, 3.0-litre TDI and a 3.0-litre FSI. The A6 will come in the latter half of 2011 and will be priced competitively against the 5-Series and E-Class.
