The first half of 2014 is the tentative time-frame for the release of the much anticipated Datsun GO in the Indian automobile market. Now, Datsun have announced that their products will be sold through the medium of Nissan’s extensive pre established presence of showrooms across the country. Datsun and Nissan, along with Infiniti fall under the same umbrella portfolio, which goes some way towards explaining the reason behind this decision.
Vincent Cobee, Global Head of Datsun elaborated further on this announcement, he said, “Selling the Datsun GO and future Datsun models through Nissan Motor represents a natural evolution of the company’s operations in India, which are well recognized in the market. We are excited about launching the iconic Datsun brand in India and look forward to bringing a growing range of bespoke, locally-produced products and high level services to our customers.”
Using Nissan’s existing network of showrooms across Indian means that Datsun will already have an expansive platform from which to integrate itself into the Indian market, and will help provide a solid base for the company’s operations on Indian shores.
