The Hyundai Grand i10 CNG offers another option for those seeking a car powered by alternative fuel.

Hyundai Grand i10 CNG Launched

With the increasing demand for alternative fuel engines and better fuel efficiency, the automobile sector is also revamping their line of vehicles accordingly. The latest addition comes in the form of the Hyundai Grand i10 CNG, further expanding the popular portfolio that Hyundai Motor India have on offer. The launch was done silently by the company and the Grand i10 CNG is available in just one “Magna” variant in the market.

Priced at Rs 6.39 lakh (ex-showroom), the Hyundai Grand i10 CNG Magna brings the convenience of alternative fuel to the mid-level trim of the hatchback. It is to be noted that, earlier, the CNG option was available to buy, but only for the fleet buyers in the form of the Prime variant. With this move, the CNG option will be available to the private buyers as factory-fitted option. The move was made by Hyundai Motor India in a bid to lure the buyers looking for a more economic car with better fuel efficiency.

As mentioned, the Hyundai Grand i10 CNG is available in the market as a single “Magna” variant. The car is fitted with the same 1.2-litre Kappa VTVT petrol engine, which has been retuned in order to achieve a higher fuel efficiency. The power output is now reduced to 67 PS and 98 Nm of torque on the CNG model, as compared to the 83 PS and 114 Nm of peak torque available for the petrol-only version.

The Hyundai Grand i10 CNG is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and will ride on 14-inch wheels. Features such as a 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, rear air-vents, electric ORVMs, steering-mounted controls and many more are available. It also gets dual front airbags and ABS with EBD as standard.

What the car is still missing out on are the rear parking sensors and speed alert system, the latter of which are made mandatory for vehicles as per the new safety regulations.

The Grand i10 is a consistent selling model from Hyundai Motor India. The introduction of the CNG model for private buyers will definitely boost the sales figure of this hatchback, especially with buyers looking for a more pocket-friendly option. The Hyundai Grand i10 CNG is going to go toe-to-toe with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio among others.

Hyundai are also working on the next generation model of the Grand i10. It was spotted testing multiple times earlier. The new-gen Grand i10 is expected to make its debut globally sometime around the end of the year. Keep checking our page for more updates.
