Audi RS 7_Front Head On

Surprisingly, however, the RS 7’s massive engine and horsepower behaved in an extremely civilised manner when I was making my way through the city traffic. I slotted the drive select into the comfort mode and the engine was running at a relaxed pace. I could see that the RPM needle never went above 1,900 while the car was going at 40-50 km/h. The 700 Nm of torque arrives from as low as 1,750 revs, which makes it extremely easy to drive in the city as well. The RS 7 also comes with cylinder de-activation, which shuts down four of the eight cylinders when it detects that your right foot is extremely gentle and that the car is not moving at a stupendous pace.

Mechanically, the new RS 7 is identical to the previous one in that it has the same great chassis, suspension and dynamics. Enthusiastic driving is what the RS 7 deserved as it rewarded me immensely when I started pushing it hard. The air-suspension works beautifully on smooth roads, providing a plush ride quality and comfort. Surprisingly, the car behaved quite well even on rough roads despite running on massive wheels and low-profile tyres. The steering is perfectly weighted, whatever the speed. Feel and feedback are superb as they constantly tell you what the front end is doing. I experienced the greatest fun when I was pushing the RS 7 into corners. The car stuck to the selected line thanks to the brilliant steering and those super-sticky tyres. There was nary a hint of body-roll and all I was able to feel were the brilliant dynamics of this car. My confidence was boosted even further when I braked hard, as there was a truck in my way, and the way the car shed speed was incredible. Those massive anchors work quite well and feel sure-footed at all times, providing more than adequate braking power every time my foot hit the brake pedal.

It goes like a rocket and handles like a charm: the new RS 7 is one of the best four-door sportbacks out there, though at Rs 1.4 crore (ex-showroom) it is rather expensive. But with that kind of moolah in question, you are getting an incredible car with build quality that is reminiscent of a tank. Unparalleled luxury combined with unmatched sportiness simply testify to the brilliance the Germans are capable of. And you also get the privilege of owning the most powerful sportback from Audi (at least as of now). Now these are the reasons I would put my money down for an RS 7 and I would most certainly recommend that you should too.
