Porsche India has announced the launch of the new 911 Carrera, the 7th generation of the 911, as well as the new Boxster S unveiled globally earlier this year.
The 911 Carrera’s 3.8 litre 6-cylinder engine offers 405.5 PS and accelerates from 0-100 kph in 4.3 seconds (4.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package) to a top speed of 302 kph. The car features new electro-mechanical power steering as well as the world’s first seven-speed manual transmission or an automatic 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK).
The third-generation Boxster S has a mid-mounted 3.4 litre 6-cylinder engine offering 319.3 PS and accelerating from 0-100 kph in 5 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package and PDK gearbox. Fuel efficiency is also claimed to have been increased.
Porsche India claimed to have recently topped the best ever monthly sales performance for Porsche in India, with 117 deliveries since the first week of October 2012. Apart from the 911 and Boxster, the company also offers the Panamera luxury Gran Turismo and the Cayenne SUV with naturally-aspirated V6 and V8 petrol engines, a turbocharged V8 petrol engine, and a V6 diesel engine.
