Formula one has always been associated with sheer thrill, passion and speed. The amazing fans are the soul of this sport, but what if in the near future F1 fans could catch every moment of a race from all angles?
Well thanks to Norway-based camera makers ‘Making View’, racing aficionados can now actually enjoy the actual footage with 360-degree rotating angle. The Norwegian firm have unveild a radical 360 degree spherical camera in association with Red Bull Racing F1 team. This revolutionary camera allows the viewer to control the angle themselves using the arrows on their computers keyboard, switching from the view ahead of the car, to the right or left, or even hovering above the driver looking down at his helmet.
To showcase this amazing technology, Red Bull Racing strapped one of the spherical cameras on their F1 car and took it out for a spin on the circuit. Viewers were given a chance to control the camera angle, with a touch of a button they can switched the desired view angle. In-fact, they can also play back recorded footage of their favorite part of the race from the high-speed circuit. The “ViewCam” weighs just over half a kilogram (600 gram) and the firm claims it can be attached to things like a helmet or on a racesuit as well.
Now that’s another step to get up close to pure racing action.
