The Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe has been launched in the country becoming the 10th car for their Make-in-India portfolio. The car will be available in two variants – 300 d 4MATIC diesel priced at Rs 63.70 lakh and the 300 4MATIC petrol for Rs 62.70 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe models add to the Stuttgart major’s SUV range in the country making the German auto manufacturer the largest premium SUV portfolio with eight SUVs in India. Mercedes claim that there is an increasing demand for SUV coupés, which will be better catered to with local production. The new car will be equipped with Mercedes me connect that offers a number of features like remote lock/unlock, car locator, speed monitor, emergency e-call, and more. We will also see MBUX, which is Mercedes’s car virtual assistant and infotainment system.
As mentioned above, in the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe we see two BS-VI engines with the OM654 1,950-cc, in-line four-cylinder engine churning out 245 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The petrol version is a 1,991-cc in-line four-cylinder unit that makes 258 hp and 370 Nm of torque. Both variants are available with the 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission.
