Toyota have announced their decision to increase the prices along with their latest offers for customers to deal with the demonetisation.

The Japanese manufacturer has decided to increase the prices of its products by up to three per cent from the beginning of 2017. They have revealed that this hike in the price is to deal with the rising costs of manufacturing and upward trend in foreign exchange rates.

N. Raja, Director and Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “There has been an increase in pricing of raw material commodities like steel, aluminium, copper and rubber over a period of the last six months and this puts a lot of pressure on us as all this has been leading to a higher input cost on our end. However, owing to continued pressure of high costs and foreign exchange rates remaining at high levels of above Rs 68 US$, we have been pressured to increase the cost of our products.”

The bad news was followed by a ray of hope for the customers because Toyota launched the ‘Remember December Campaign’. This campaign makes a variety of good deals available to the customers like 100 per cent on-road financing, EMI holidays (buy now and pay in March 2017). They are also offering a special EMI package as low as Rs 22,999 for select models of the Innova Crysta.

Toyota have been happy with the 10 per cent increase in domestic sales in the month of November 2016. Which they primarily owe to the overwhelming response to the recently launched Fortuner, Innova Crysta and the Platinum Etios.
