With Hyundai Motor India Ltd. celebrating 15 years of their presence in the country, they have decided to introduce a special edition of the Santro; their very first model upon arrival in India.
The new model, called the Santro Xing ‘Celebration Edition’ takes a classic and widely accepted design and adds a few modern touches which truly enhance its value.
The first thing you notice on the new car is the addition of body graphics towards the rear in a bit to add a bit of sporty character. There’s also a dash of chrome on the rear hatch. The main changes however are on the inside. First up, is the new Blaupunkt music system with speakers, a rear parking assist system with LED display and a manually-operated rear curtain.
The engine doing duty is the same 1.1-litre motor making 63 PS and 96 Nm of torque. It is available in a petrol version as well as in LPG or CNG guises. Prices start at Rs 3.81 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Hyundai cars have consistently been among the top-sellers and to support their growth and expansion plans, the company currently has 370 dealers and more than 900 service points across India.
