Honda has taken the curtains off its new NSX concept car at the Detroit Motor Show.

The new concept is basically a slightly tweaked version of the NSX concept displayed at the last edition of the annual Detroit show. Electric motors drive the front wheels, and a mid-mounted direct injection V6 drives the rear wheels, thus giving the car four-wheel drive. Honda will also be fitting its Super Active All-Wheel Drive system to the car. Total power output is expected to be around 405.5 PS.

The interior has received some serious attention and is likely to be tweaked more as the car is developed further. A major styling highlight are big carbonfibre struts running from the dashboard to the centre console. On the outside, the arrow-shaped nose and flying buttresses have been carried over from the 2012 concept, and new alloy wheels with lightweight carbonfibre fins aid in improving the aerodynamics.

The new NSX is expected to enter mass production in 2015 and will be manufactured at a new production facility in central Ohio.
