The reigns to Volkswagen India have changed hands – Dr. Andreas Lauermann will succeed Mahesh Kodumudi as the President and Managing Director of Volkswagen India, and will take charge from 1st July 2015.
Dr. Andreas Lauermann aged 53, holds a doctorate degree from the University of Passau and Technical University Munich. After holding lead positions in Industrial Engineering with Volkswagen, Dr. Lauermann moved to Volkswagen Argentina in 2007 as the General Manager. At the beginning of 2015, he returned to Volkswagen Wolfsburg, as the head of Central Group Production, Strategy and Planning.
On the other hand, Mahesh Kodumudi will take over a responsible position with Volkswagen Group of America, with effect from 1st June 2015. But he will continue to act in an advisory role to Volkswagen Group in India in the coming months.
