German automotive giants, BMW have launched the facelifted X1 for the Indian market.

At a gala event held in the nation’s capital today, the marque pulled the wraps of their 2013 X1. Present at the launch was actress Dia Mirza along with BMW India group head Philipp Von Sahr. The new X1 has been given more emphasis on the ‘luxury’ front; the front-end is laced up with new bumper, grille, fog lamps and a completely re-worked bumper. The head lights have also been worked upon with new LED corona rings on select variants and internal graphics. The rear of the X1 also sports a re-styled bumper. Engine wise, the 2013 X1 carries over the same 2.0 litre diesel mill as its predecessor but in a different state of tune and now produces 184 PS. The motor also comes with start-stop function and sports an all new eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Other new features in the updated X1 are an ECO PRO mode, brake energy regeneration and a disengagable climate compressor. BMW are offering the X1 in three variants, namely base, xLine and Sportline. Prices for the facelifted X1 starts at Rs 27.9 lakh for the base variant while both the Sportline and xLine trims comes for Rs 32.5 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
