Maruti recently unveiled the facelifted version of its tall-boy hatch, the WagonR.
The car gets a host of cosmetic changes to give it a refreshed and more upmarket look. The reworked exterior now has a new front bumper incorporating a larger air dam and a sporty fog lamp bezel design. The redesigned grille is chrome-accented (in Lxi and Vxi trims) and is claimed to reduce airborne noise. The front bumper styling is in line with that of the newer Maruti offerings including the Ertiga and the Dzire.
On the inside, there is a beige-and-black color scheme, with all-beige seats in Vxi trim and beige-and-black seats in Lx and Lxi trims. The dashboard is beige in the upper half and black in the lower half, and includes a redesigned instrument panel and a push-type upper storage box. The Vxi trim also gets a fully-integrated ‘Eagle Wings’ music system with USB input. The WagonR is now OBD II compliant i.e. it incorporates On-Board Diagnostics II (OBD II). It is also claimed to be 8% more fuel efficient than the previous version. The company has opened bookings for the new WagonR at its dealerships, and will announce prices within a week.
