Porsche India announces appointment of six official dealers and new pricing structure.
Porsche has commenced its Indian retail operations with the appointment of dealers in the cities of Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Kolkata and Mumbai, and plans to open more dealerships within this year. The dealers have started work on state-of-the-art facilities that will be operational in 2013. Till that time, they will accept orders and will commence deliveries soon, with service requests handled from temporary facilities at all dealers.
All dealerships will feature fully-equipped service facilities and an in-house team of trained and fully mobile technicians to support after sales teams and meet customers. As part of the brand’s re-launch, Porsche also announced a new pricing structure for the entire model range with ex-showroom Maharashtra prices starting at Rs 61.4 lakh for the petrol Cayenne SUV, Rs 68.3 lakh for the diesel Cayenne, and Rs 99.0 lakh for the Panamera Diesel. Porsche plans a strong focus on sports cars with ex-showroom Maharashtra prices for the new 911 at Rs 1.12 crore and for the new mid-engined Boxster S at Rs 80.24 lakh.
Porsche claimed that many customers were enquiring about the Cayenne Diesel and the Panamera range. The company believes that the 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine and a basic retail price of under Rs 1 crore would help revive the luxury car segment in India.
