Nissan_Micra_faceliftNissan India has introduced the new Nissan Micra in two guises – the premium Micra and the value-packed Micra Active.

The Micra has always been recognised for its robustness, dynamic design and advanced features. It was the first hatchback in India to feature keyless go as well. Now, the new Micra brings in even more options for both first-time hatchback customers as well as those looking for an upgrade. The redesigned exterior houses premium and spacious interiors with several user friendly features including top quality safety and infotainment technology. Furthermore, Nissan India have also introduced a version with Xtronic CVT automatic transmission.

The new Micra features an aggressively redesigned front and rear. The overall length of the car has been increased by 45mm to 3825mm. It also gets a sculpted bonnet and front bumper with a Nissan-signature V-shaped chrome grille. Front fog lamps with a thick chrome finish add to the premium appeal. The rear too gets a redesigned bumper with a lip finisher and bright LED tail lamps as well as high mounted LED stop lamp, which is a segment first. The new diamond-design 8-spoke alloy wheels complete the exterior styling updates.

The new Micra will be offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, like its predecessor, both offering superior performance without compromising on fuel efficiency. The fuel efficiency of tried and tested 68-PS, 1.2-litre petrol engine has been slightly improved to 18.44 km/l (ARAI certified) from their performance tuning, while the renowned K9K diesel motor in 65-PS state of tune is good for 23.08 km/l. Further improved NVH levels have also resulted in quieter cabins. The fuel efficiency figure for the lighter Micra Active is stated at 19.49 km/l, and Nissan say that even the automatic version (only with the petrol XV variant) offers pleasantly surprising fuel efficiency of 19.34 km/l.

The prices for the new Micra start at Rs 4.79 lakh while the Micra Active starts from Rs 3.50 lakh, both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. There are the usual grades on offer, with the diesel available in four grades, XL, XL O, XV and XV Premium, starting from Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 1.2 petrol is available as XL, XL O and XV CVT, the latter costing Rs 6.39 lakh. The Micra Active is available in four grades as well, XE, XL, XV and XV Safety.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Kenichiro Yomura, President & CEO, Nissan Motor India said, “Micra is a significant model for Nissan in India as the car has more than 43,000 happy customers since its launch in 2010. New Nissan Micra is the right product at the right time that will offer the customers ideal urban mobility with a complete package of premium design, performance, features, safety and comfort. We expect New Micra, as well as Micra Active with its excellent value proposition and its unique features, to serve wider range of customers in India.”
