Want your Honda Amaze to be even more convenient and stylish? Well, the new Amaze is just that and it comes with continuously variable transmission (CVT) as well
CVT (continuously variable transmission) is a boon for people who prefer convenience to engagement. It allows you to cruise without the hassle of depressing the clutch and shifting gears. Amazing, isn’t it? Well, the point here is that Honda’s second pillar of success in India, the Amaze, is now available in a CVT variant as well and we recently drove it in the National Capital Region. Here is the low-down.
It was a pleasant morning when I got into the driver’s seat of the new Honda Amaze. What’s new? You may ask, well… for starters the front looks new and shiny. Well, almost. Honda have reworked both the exterior and the interior of the Amaze to bring it closer to the competition, and, honestly, to keep the buzz around the car alive. So the new Amaze wears a better-looking front which is similar to the older one’s but with a dash of make-up. It also looks wider because of the new bumper, which adds more muscle to the front end.
At the back, the tail-lamps get snazzier with their new design and a new bumper. But the main change is about the interior. The old Amaze had a drab-looking dashboard, especially the weird chocolate/brown tone. The new one takes its cues from the Jazz and the City. Although it doesn’t get the touch-operated centre console of the City, the button-operated console works just as well. And it looks much better. Bluetooth connectivity, hands-free calling, automatic air-conditioner, a massive screen for infotainment are some of the key changes in the new Amaze. Proper two-tone interior is now standard, and this has elevated the cabin to another level.
Apart from the beautiful dashboard, the instrument panel has also changed and so has the steering which now comes with controls mounted on it. The triple-pod instrumentation looks sporty and adds a lot of flair and excitement to the interior. Quality and fit-and-finish of the interior have gone up considerably as they look more premium and upmarket as compared to the previous Amaze. The good attributes of the cabin remain the same; that is, comfortable, spacious and roomy.
