Volvo Cars India have finally launched their much-awaited, petrol-powered plug-in hybrid XC90
Volvo’s highly acclaimed XC90 T8 Hybrid has finally been launched in India at a staggering Rs 1.25 crore (ex-Delhi) price tag. But the price feels puny when you take a look at the excellent features this SUV comes with. For starters, the T8 Hybrid is equipped with Volvo’s scintillating twin-charged four-pot petrol motor that is compact in size however, delivers quite a powerful punch, 320PS to be exact. Not only that, this engine develops a healthy 400 Nm of torque. All this power is transferred seamlessly to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. But wait, that’s not it, this highly efficient motor works in tandem with an electric motor that takes the total power output to 407PS. Volvo say that the combination of the petrol and electric motor drive-train is capable of accelerating the XC90 T8 from 0 – 100 km/h in under six seconds.
The T8 Hybrid is available in the Excellence trim, making it the most exclusive XC90 out there. The XC90 T8 Hybrid Excellence also comes loaded with radar detection, a first in India, which monitors the road conditions ahead to avoid a collision. The T8 Hybrid also comes with pre-activated seat belts, energy absorbing seats, park assist and a tonne of other safety and convenience features. Along with launching this new XC90 in India, Volvo India have also setup two charging stations for consumers who can charge their XC90 T8 Hybrid for free at these station.
