Tata Motors’ compact SUV, the Nexon was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March along with its sibling, the Tigor. Now ahead of its speculated Diwali launch, the Nexon has been spotted testing without any camouflage. From what we can see, especially the rear and the side, this compact SUV sure looks promising.
As we reported earlier, we expect the Nexon to be sold with an 85-PS, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine. While the diesel variant may be powered by a 1.3-litre turbo-diesel or, as announced in Geneva, the 1.5-litre Revotorq engine. Shod with alloy wheels and equipped with indicator-integrated wing-mirrors, we expect this to be the top-most variant. Priced right, it could cause some turbulence in the segment, possibly unsettling the Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Creta and the Honda WR-V.
We can expect more specific details ahead of the anticipated Diwali launch. In the meantime, Tigor’s battle against its rivals might be an interesting read.
