Porsche have introduced a go-faster Performance Package for the Macan Turbo, taking power up to 440 PS.
The Macan is Porsche’s second SUV, sitting below the larger Cayenne, which has been a runaway success for the brand. We drove the Macan Turbo last year and were surprised by how versatile it actually was. It truly blends sports-car performance with rough-road and, to some extent, off-road ability as well. The Macan Turbo has a 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6 that makes 400 PS and 550 Nm. With the new Performance Package, it gets a bump up to a Cayenne GTS-equalling 440 PS and 600 Nm, the latter available between 1,500 and 4,500 RPM – a very wide 3,000 RPM band! As a result, 0-100 km/h is dismissed in 4.4 seconds and the top speed is now 272 km/h; a 0.4s and 6.5 km/h improvement. The Macan with Performance Package is priced at a premium of Rs 5.6 lakh in Germany.
