The new Tata Harrier BS VI has been launched with an updated engine, new automatic transmission and also a new top-end XZ+ variant.
The popular Tata Harrier SUV has received an update to make it compliant with the new emission norms, and Tata Motors have taken the opportunity to spruce it up with a few, much-needed updates, including a more powerful 170-hp turbo-diesel engine, an automatic transmission option, as well as a new XZ+ trim level that brings with it updated kit, which includes 17-inch alloy wheels.
The Tata Harrier BS VI retains its variant structure below, with the XE, XM, XT, and XZ, but also gains a new top-end XZ+. There are also three new automatic variants: XMA, XZA and XZA+. The new features in the XZ+ and XZA+ include a panoramic sunroof, a six-way powered driver seat with adjustable lumbar support, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and new alloy wheels. Customers also have a new exterior paint shade to choose from: Calypso Red. Tata Motors also announced that they will be providing ESP (electronic stability program) across all variants as standard.
Under the hood of the Tata Harrier BS VI is the Kryotec170 four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 170 hp – 30 hp more than the outgoing model. Bookings are now open for the BS VI range at a token amount of Rs 30,000. The bookings can be made through the Harrier website (harrier.tatamotors.com) or at any Tata Motors dealership.
The pricing starts at Rs 13.69 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.99 lakh; ex-showroom prices.
