The German giant launches three new high-end cars in a single day
Three German beauties launched in a day, now launches don’t get any more luxurious than this. Mercedes-Benz India today launched three new cars following their ‘15 in 15’ strategy, where they will be launching 15 new cars in 2015. For now they have launched the gorgeous S 500 Coupé, a sleeker S-Class with truck loads of oomph. Next up is the AMG S 63, the eighth AMG model on offer in India, and, rightfully, one of the craziest luxury coupés with enough firepower to deliver the necessary thrills and then some. Last, but not the least, is the Hulk of SUVs, the AMG G 63, in funky and youthful colours.
The S 500 4MATIC Coupé is priced at Rs 2 crore, the AMG S 63 can be yours for just Rs 2.60 crore and the AMG G 63 will cost Rs 2.17 crore.
Prices apart, the S 500 4MATIC Coupé takes the already brilliant-looking S-Class to another level in terms of aesthetics. It is powered by the same 4.7-litre twin-turbo V8 that serves the S 500 saloon, which churns out 455 PS and head-turning 700 Nm of torque. However, for purists Mercedes has also launched the AMG S 63 Coupé. Now, surreal stuff happens when you attach those three magic letters (AMG) with any Mercedes model and the S 63 is no exception. It breathes fire thanks to the S-spec 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 that gives birth to 585 horses and produces earth-shattering 900 Newton metres of turning force. Phew! The S 63 is an absolute beast and with that much power and torque, it is sure to give some of the sports cars out there a run for their money. Lastly, the third product launched today is the grand-daddy of SUVs: the G 63 AMG, which is now available in limited edition Crazy Colours that include Solar Beam, Sunset Beam and, my favourite, Alien Green.
Along with these three cars, Mercedes-Benz have also introduced the famous ‘Magic Body Control’, a dynamic system that uses stereo video camera to monitor the roads ahead and constantly adjusts the car’s suspension to cope. It will be available on the S 63 Coupé as standard equipment. You can also bling up your S 500 Coupé and the S 63 Coupé by opting for the unique set of headlamps that come with 94 Swarovski crystals.
Mercedes-Benz India also launched a new customisation programme called ‘designo’ which allows customers to choose special paints, trims and features for their cars. Now, we are just waiting to welcome the remaining few cars of the ‘15 in 15’ plan, and we know that the AMG GT is one of them!
