Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) have launched the Creta compact SUV in petrol and diesel variants starting from Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Creta is available with a 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine making 123 PS and 151 Nm, while the diesel engine choices include 1.4-litre CRDi unit with 90 PS and 220 Nm as well as 1.6 CRDi with 128 PS and 260 Nm. A six-speed manual is the standard transmission, whereas the 1.6 CRDi diesel gets an optional six-speed automatic transmission. The range is priced between Rs 8.5 to 13.6 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
The Creta petrol is offered with a claimed fuel economy of 15.29 km/l, the 1.4 CRDi with 21.38 km/l, and the 1.6 CRDi with 19.67 km/l for the manual and 17.01 km/l for the automatic variant.
The Creta is offered with a three-year/unlimited-km warranty, claimed by Hyundai to be the first in the segment. Highlights of the Creta (in top-end guise) include 17″ alloys, projector headlamps, shark-fin antenna, electric folding wing mirrors, and a 7″ AVN (audio, video and navigation) system with 1 GB of built-in memory. Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera with steering adaptive guidelines and sensors, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), hill-start assist control (HAC), front fog lamps, and static bending cornering lamps.
The Creta is available in seven exterior colour options. Prices (ex-showroom Delhi) are given below:
1.6 VTVT Petrol: Rs 8.5-11.1 lakh
1.4 CRDi Diesel: Rs 9.4-11.4 lakh
1.6 CRDi Diesel M/T: Rs 11.5-13.6 lakh
1.6 CRDi Diesel A/T: Rs 13.5 lakh
