Ford India have launched the updated EcoSport from Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-Delhi).
The new Ford EcoSport brings a slew of changes to make it more stylish and competitive in time for the upcoming festive season. For starters, it has a signature light guide for a more contemporary front profile as well as a new paint shade. However, the big change is the relocation of the spare wheel. No longer is the wheel bolted to the back of the tailgate, taking advantage of the four-metre length loophole.
Featurewise, the EcoSport top variants gets automatic headlamps, auto-dimming mirror, rain-sensing wipers as well as ISOFIX child-seat anchors. Apart from the base Ambiente models, all variants have a 60:40 split-folding and reclining rear seat with adjustable head-rests. They also have standard ABS with EBD, and dual front airbags. The Titanium+ variant also includes curtain airbags. The Titanium A/T variant also gets electronic stability control, traction control, emergency brake assist, hill-start assist as well as curtain airbags.
While the petrol engines have the same output figures as before – the 1.5 with 112 PS and 140 Nm, and the EcoBoost with 125 PS and 170 Nm – the 1.5 TDCi diesel now gets its output slightly bumped up, by 9 PS and 1 Nm, to now produce 100 PS and 205 Nm.
