Bookings for the Kia EV6 will begin on May 26 in India, and the electric crossover’s price will be released in the second part of the year.

With the upcoming EV6, Kia India will make its electric vehicle debut. The all-electric Kia EV6 will go on sale on May 26th, followed by a debut in the coming months. The vehicle will be introduced in the country via the CBU route and initially, it will be limited to 100 units. The electric car was first revealed to the public in May 2021.

Kia EV6 is a crossover electric SUV with a minimalist design philosophy that avoids harsh creases and character lines. A streamlined front grille is complemented by big LED headlamps on the EV. The car’s ‘Digital Tiger Face,’ a design advancement recalling the spirit of Kia’s ‘Tiger Nose Grille’ for the electrified era, has a unique DRL signature on the headlight. With a broad air inlet and a chrome garnish on the lower lip, the front bumper has a sleek look.

The sloping roofline and sloped windscreen underline the Kia EV6’s crossover identity, while black accents around the windows provide the electric car with a sporty appearance. The roof spoiler, duck-tail spoiler, and glossy black side cladding all add to the overall rugged look.

While the interior is simple, it’s packed with features like 12-inch twin displays for the touchscreen infotainment system and digital driver’s display, a panoramic panel for climate settings, ambient lighting, heated/ventilated front seats, and eco-friendly seats made of recycled polymers. Safe exit assists, lane following assist, highway driving aid, and remote smart parking assist are examples of Level 3 autonomous driver assistance.

The EV6 comes with two battery pack options: a 58 kWh battery pack and a 77.4 kWh battery pack. We assume the business will only offer the EV6 with the 77.4 kWh battery pack and a 222 hp and 350 Nm electric motor. This combination promises a driving range of 499 km per charge. The 77.4 kWh pack is also available with a more powerful motor that produces 316 hp and 605 Nm globally. However, this reduces the claimed driving range to 441 km on a single charge

Although the arrival of the Kia EV6 in India is exciting, only 100 units will be available. It would be imported as a CBU and will cost more than Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). It’ll compete in India against the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Tesla Model Y, as well as the Volvo XC40 Recharge.
