Poised for the launch of the new Chevrolet Trailblazer, we take a quick look at what to expect

Chevrolet have mostly been dormant on the product launch front for some time now. While others have gone on new product launch sprees, America’s golden bow tie have been content to make the odd corporate announcement here and there. All that will change, however, with the launch of the Trailblazer tomorrow. Here’s what the Trailblazer will offer.
Although the Trailblazer is available in other markets with 2.5-litre diesel and 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine options, in India the vehicle will only get the 2.8-litre Duramax diesel engine with 200 PS and a whopping 500 Nm on tap. Transmission option will also be limited to a six-speed automatic gearbox for this new seven-seater SUV.
This robust looking Chevrolet SUV will also feature Chevrolet’s signature MyLink connectivity system, which will be operated by a seven-inch touchscreen. Chevrolet are also claiming best in class safety systems to provide the customer with extra peace of mind. The Chevrolet Trailblazer, post its launch tomorrow will compete with the likes of the soon to be launched Ford Endeavour and the Toyota Fortuner. If Chevrolet price it well, then they have a good shot at making a dent in their competitors’ market share. We expect Chevrolet to price the Trailblazer at around Rs 30 lakh.
