Ford India have launched the all-new Endeavour in India from Rs 24.75 lakh.
Ford have been actively promoting the new Endeavour via social media and on their website, touting it as Santa’s choice of new ride because of its all-road and off-road ability, towing capacity and massive boot of over 2,000 litres. The Endeavour measures 4.9 metres long and boasts of a 225 mm ground clearance with commendable approach and departure angles, and a considerable wading depth too.
The Terrain Management System, akin to Land Rover’s TerrainResponse, helps choose a drive mode based on the present surface type. SYNC 2 also improves connectivity.
Inside, the layout is more contemporary and convenience features are high priority. The third row seats are powered, as is the tail-gate. The brochure, available for download, confirms the trim lines as well as two engines and two transmissions in what will be four powertrain choices.
The 2.2-litre in-line four TDCi turbo-diesel makes 160 PS at 3,200 RPM with a peak 385 Nm coming in between 1,600 and 2,500 RPM. The 2.2 TDCi motor is available with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The manual is available with 4×2 or 4×4 drivelines. The automatic is available only with the 4×2 driveline. The 2.2 motor with manual transmission is available in the Trend trim, while the automatic 4×2 is also available in the Trend trim as well as in the Titanium trim.
The 3.2-litre in-line five TDCI turbo-diesel makes 200 PS at 3,000 RPM and a hefty 470 Nm between 1,750 and 2,500 RPM. It is available only with a six-speed automatic transmission and 4×4 drive in either Trend or Titanium trims.
The new Ford Endeavour raises the safety bar with standard ABS, EBD, Hill-start Assist, ESP, Traction Control and electric power-steering with drift compensation. Hill Descent Control and Terrain Management System are standard with the 4×4 drivelines. While dual front airbags are standard in the Trend trim, the Titanium trim adds side and curtain, while the 3.2 Titanium also adds a driver knee airbag.
With all these additions, the new Endeavour is priced as below:
2.2 4×2 MT: Rs 24.75 lakh
2.2 4×4 MT: Rs 26.68 lakh
2.2 4×2 AT: Rs 25.53 lakh
2.2 4×2 AT Titanium: Rs 27.36 lakh
3.2 4×4 AT: Rs 27.78 lakh
3.2 4×4 AT Titanium: Rs 29.46 lakh
