Chevrolet will launch the new flex-fuel Cruze at the 34th Bangkok International Motor Show to be held from 27 March-07 April 2013.
The Cruze was first launched in Thailand in November 2010 and its customer base currently is more than 20,000-strong, aside from being the highest-selling Chevrolet model globally.
On the outside, the changes include a new front bumper with redesigned fog lamps, new rear bumper and taillights, new headlamps with chrome bezels, a new front grille, five-spoke alloy wheels, automatic windshield wipers, and auto headlamp. Inside, there is the new ‘brown stone’ upholstery, a centre stack using new grain and improved texture, and an entertainment system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX support. Variants with keyless entry and ignition have a reshaped circular start/stop button. The car is powered by an updated 1.8-litre E85 petrol engine that can run on any form of petrol, from pure petrol to up to 85% ethanol mix. Maximum power is 142.9 PS at 6,200 RPM with maximum torque of 177 Nm at 3,800 RPM. The car uses a next-generation GF6 six-speed automatic transmission and a new engine management system that adjusts fuel-flow rate, spark advance, ignition timing, and other parameters depending on the ethanol-petrol mix being used. Other engine options include a 2.0 litre turbo-diesel engine with VCDi delivering maximum power of 152 PS and maximum torque of 320 Nm, and an E20-capable 1.6 litre petrol engine with maximum power of 110.6 PS and maximum torque of 150 Nm.
The new Cruze will be available for test drives at the Bangkok Show 2013. Chevrolet typically brings updated models of their cars to India so we could get to see this Cruze hopefully later this year. Bring it on Chevy!
