We travel all the way to Renault India’s factory to test drive the much talked about Renault Duster compact SUV.
Targeting the growing demand for such offerings, the SUV would take on models like the Mahindra Scorpio, XUV500 and Tata Safari etc.
The Duster will be offered in 1.5 dCI diesel and 1.5 petrol motors, will be available in three trims and colours like white, maroon, brown, silver, grey and black. The car has been tuned for Indian conditions and promises to be very fuel efficient. Carrying forward the Renault trait, the Duster offer good handling and built quality. Though we feel that the interior plastics could have been better. Armed with features like Dual Air-conditioning, air bags, ABS, parking sensors among other the Duster seems to be a good proposition.
Scheduled for a launch in the first week of July ’12, the model is supposed to be a price warrior in its segment. We expect it to be priced between between Rs 9-11 lakh ex-showroom.
