To be based on the Mercedes-Benz Viano
According to recent reports, Force Motors are planning to launch a multi-purpose vehicle (MpV) based on the Mercedes-Benz Viano.
The new MpV, codenamed t0 (t-zero), will be based on the previous generation Mercedes Viano platform and will be produced under licence from Mercedes-Benz.
Force Motors will be bringing in a whole plant from daimler and installing it at pithampur in Madhya pradesh to produce the eight-seater MpV, which is expected to hit the indian market by late 2012 or by the first quarter of 2013. The company already has an arrangement with MBtech powertrain gmbH (MBtech) for sourcing technical assistance with regard to engine installation, vehicle build quality and refinement in electronics. The new MpV will be built by Force Motors and exported to other markets.
